Rural Spring Seminar: Wednesday 27 February 2019

  • Date:27/02/2019
  • Time:16:30 - 20:00
  • Venue:Kingston Park

Good Husbandry: Out of the fields and into the Farmhouse

With so much focus on the day to day work needed to maintain levels of good husbandry on farmland, our spring rural seminar will move our focus into the Farmhouse, covering a wide range of issues for farmers, farm businesses and land owners. These hot topics will be explored in our usual format of looking at a number of case studies.

The topics to be covered include:

  • Formal and informal Grazing Agreements;
  • Bringing and defending claims for Adverse Possession of land;
  • A consideration of the use of Option and Overage Agreements;
  • Farmworkers’ status and rights;
  • Firearms offences and other aspects of rural crime; and
  • Planning for the possible mental incapacity of a farmer.

Why attend?

The seminar will also look at the Inheritance Tax issues which may arise in relation to the topics to be discussed, with a focus on ensuring the availability of Agricultural Property Relief and Business Property Relief.

There will also be food and drinks provided following the seminar for anyone who may have any questions.
