Prospective Trainee Solicitors

Hay & Kilner is very much a ‘people' firm. Your academic achievements are important to us but that's a small part of how we assess prospective candidates. We're looking for ambitious trainees with highly developed communication skills and the ability to think clearly under pressure. You will be hard working, meticulous and confident.

Our clients think we stand out from the crowd because of our people. In recent research they were asked, "What is your perception of Hay & Kilner's strengths?"

"They are a strong professional firm with a good reputation.... they employ solicitors that you want to work with."

"They have a personal touch and make you feel at ease"

"Astute, commercial and professional"

"The specialists are very competent. They give good, commercially viable advice too."

We aim to carry out interviews for training contracts two years in advance.  Our online application form gives further information on training opportunities.

Applications for our Summer Vacation Scheme should be submitted by 28th February and training contracts by 31st July.  Check out our website for up to date details.

If you are interested in training contract opportunities please download our brochure for more information and apply online.

Vacation Placement Scheme

We run a vacation placement scheme in June each year as part of our application process. This gives you an opportunity to see whether we are the right firm for you and we can see if you have the potential to become a Hay & Kilner team member. The closing date for vacation placement applications is 28th February.

If you are interested in training contract opportunities or vacation placements please download our brochure for more information and apply online.
