Payment increases as of April 2019

  1. As of 1st April 2019, the National Living Wage increased as follows:
  • For those aged 25 years plus: £8.21 p/h
  • 21-24 years: £7.70 p/h
  • 18-20 years: £6.15 p/h
  • Under 18 years: £4.35 p/h
  • Apprentice (subject to conditions): £3.90 p/h
  1. As of 6th April 2019, the maximum limit on a weeks’ pay, when calculating statutory redundancy payments, will rise from £508 to £525.
  2. As of 6th April 2019, the weekly statutory sick pay rate will rise to £94.25.
  3. As of 7th April 2019, the weekly rate of statutory maternity, adoption, paternity and shared parental pay will rise to £148.68.

Itemised payslips

As of 6th April 2019, the right to itemised payslips will be extended to all workers who will be able to enforce this right at an employment tribunal. Also, payslips will need to itemise the number of hours paid for where a worker is paid on an hourly rate basis.

More workers rights next year!

With effect from April 2020, the right to a written statement of ‘employment’ terms will be extended to all workers. Currently just employees are entitled to a written statement of employment terms.
