We are currently expanding our Accounts Team and are recruiting for an experienced Legal Cashier to work within our busy Newcastle based office. This will be a full time, permanent role with opportunities for progression for the right applicant.
Successful applicants will:
- Have at least two years’ experience as a legal cashier
- Possess solid knowledge of the SRA rules
- Have a positive and proactive attitude
- Have excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Be a team player but also be able to work independently
- Be able to provide first class client care
- Have a high level of IT skills and knowledge
Tasks will include, but are not limited to:
- Posting transactions in accordance with firm procedures and in line with SARs
- Identifying and allocating payments
- Processing payments out of the banks
- Generating interest calculations
- Processing transfers between client and office account in line with the firm’s procedures
- Preparing bank reconciliations and investigating any variances
- Review matter listings for action needing to be taken
- Assist with VAT reporting
- Liaise with auditors and accountants
- Assisting debt collection
- Respond to queries from fee earners in an efficient and helpful manner
- Offer a high level of proactive service to the firm
- Other accounts related tasks as required
- Prior knowledge of Liberate would be advantageous
