Leaving lockdown: what next for those working from home?

23 Feb 2021

Despite the government’s 4 step plan for leaving lockdown, it is understood that employees should continue to work from home, where they can, until at least 21st June. This is also the date on which the government hopes to remove all legal limits on social contact.

Of course, each step is to be assessed against 4 tests before restrictions are lifted and the intention is for a review to be published in June before the advice on working from home is updated.

Employers will however want to start planning as soon as possible, therefore please do not hesitate to contact us if you require any advice in relation to employees’ working from home, managing employees’ remotely or dealing with flexible working requests (including the grounds on which employers may refuse home working requests). You can see all of our Covid updates here.
