Phil has over 20 years experience in the financial services industry and has substantial knowledge and expertise of consumer credit law, mortgage law and FSA regulation. Phil has drafted residential and commercial lending terms and conditions for lenders along with related security documentation. He has been appointed a skilled person under section 166 of the Financial Services & Markets Act 2000 and provides compliance support to mortgage lenders and brokers as well as in the general insurance field.
Phil joined the firm in 2005 after nearly 20 years working ‘in-house’ for lenders. Phil is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers. He is able to bring with him a personal perspective and understanding of the issues facing lenders. His expertise means he appreciates the practical steps that can be taken to resolve problems and make recoveries and the regulatory requirements in respect of the CCA, the FSA’s Mortgage Conduct of Business rules and TCF.
