Hay & Kilner has welcomed three new trainees to the firm who will take part in the firm's partner-led training programme, which aims to provide a comprehensive and practical learning experience.
The three trainees, Anna Corbett, Maryam Ahmed, and Olivia Bradshaw were selected based on their academic achievements, relevant work experience, and potential to become successful lawyers. As Partner Jan Rzedzian commented, “The candidates were all-rounders.”
“We are always on the lookout for candidates that not only excel in areas of law but are also personable and believe in the same core values that we do. This is important given that they will be client facing very early on,” he said.
Trainees typically complete a ‘vacation scheme’ which is a one-week work placement that takes place each June during their studies, before being interviewed and selected to join the firm on the trainee programme in two years’ time.
During their training, individuals will have the opportunity to work closely with partners and senior lawyers at the firm. They will be given real, hands-on experience in a variety of legal areas across the firm, over each six-month period.
Managing Partner, Jonathan Waters, added: “I am delighted to welcome our new trainees to the firm. As part of the programme, they will receive regular training sessions and guidance from their assigned partner and given increased responsibility to help them develop their legal skills, enabling them to gain a deeper understanding of their chosen practice areas.”
"We are incredibly passionate and proud of the quality of our trainee programme. As a fellow Hay & Kilner trainee myself, I am keen to ensure they have the very best experience and support that will give them the perfect springboard for their future legal careers.
“Anna, Maryam and Olivia showed great potential early on and we believe that our partner-led training programme will provide them with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel and become successful lawyers."
Hay & Kilner is known for its commitment to developing and nurturing young talent. The firm has a long-standing history of providing support to trainee lawyers and investing in young talent, with many other current partners and senior lawyers beginning their careers at the firm as trainees.
