The Government is once again stepping up its coronavirus response including the following measures (which the Prime Minister has said could last 6 months):
- Office workers should work from home “if they can”. This is a clear change in the advice from July when the Prime Minister said workers should “start to go back to work now if you can”. This is likely to result in an increased number of employees working from home again and it’s important that employers have the right policies in place to manage this. - Pubs, bars, restaurants and other hospitality venues should have a 10pm closing time from Thursday and there should be table service only.
- Plans for sport with live audiences to return from 1 October are also on hold.
