Hay & Kilner trainees qualify earning permanent roles

At Hay & Kilner, partner-led trainee schemes give applicants the best opportunity to explore their interests across a whole spectrum of legal areas.

Those successful graduates who not only have a keen appetite for learning but also align with the firm’s brand values, receive a two-year qualifying work placement consisting of four 6-month seats in both contentious and non-contentious areas of law.

Two of its most recent trainees have completed the scheme, qualified, and been offered permanent contracts at the firm in their preferred areas of law.

Megan Bradley has joined the Private Client Team, and Kate Garrett the Divorce & Family Team.

Kate said of her experience: “I have found the training program to be extremely supportive and insightful. With such close support from the partners, it reinforced my dream of becoming a solicitor.

“I was initially drawn to Hay & Kilner due to its large presence in the North East and full service element of it with strong departments in every area.

“Since qualifying, I am delighted to be able to carry on my career at Hay & Kilner, especially in the family department following my amazing two-year period of training.”

At Hay & Kilner, trainees are considered valued members of each team, and integral to the Firm’s long-term growth. Even some of its longest serving members of the firm, including Managing Partner, Jonathan Waters, started their career at Hay & Kilner as a trainee.

Partner in Construction & Engineering, Jan Rzedzian, heads up the partner-led trainee scheme, and added:

“All of our trainees are hand-picked, based on their knowledge, enthusiasm and alignment with our values.

“Both Kate and Megan have shown great skill, confidence and commitment to our values and we are delighted that they have chosen to permanently join the Hay & Kilner family. I wish them both all the success I know they will achieve”
