Brogan Shirreffs

Brogan regularly attends the Police Station, Magistrates Court and Crown Court on a variety of matters.

Brogan takes pride in her work, examining the finer details of each case to ensure that all eventualities are considered. Brogan has been commended throughout her career thus far on her standard of client care; being approachable, personable and ensuring that each case is explained to the individual Client in a way that can be understood clearly.

Experience
Brogan completed her Training Contract at a Newcastle based law firm, the majority of this in the Crime department, working predominantly on Crown Court cases and Trials for serious offences. This included working closely with Counsel, and being described by one during this time as ‘a breath of fresh air’.

Brogan then qualified early in August 2023, taking an NQ position in Middlesbrough. This allowed Brogan to develop her practice in a further area of the North East, working primarily on Teesside and County Durham. She managed a case load which varied from Police Investigations and Attendances, to advocacy in the Magistrates Court including Trials, Sentences and Bail Applications, to lengthier Crown Court cases where she assisted in litigation and case development from the outset to Trial and Sentence for serious offences.

Outside of the office
Outside of the office I enjoy travelling and visiting new places. I am a member of the Law Society and recently attended the Law Society Admissions Ceremony 2024 at Chancery Lane in London.
