Bethany initially read English Literature at Newcastle University, for which she received a First. Following graduation she carried out a placement in Senegal which involved working alongside the local prison and experiencing a foreign justice system. This experience, together with a desire to utilise the skills acquired during her undergraduate degree, led her to study the GDL at Northumbria University. Bethany graduated with a Distinction soon after undertaking the vacation scheme with Hay & Kilner.
Bethany wanted to build a career based in the North East and was impressed by Hay & Kilner’s reputation as regional leader. Prior to starting her training contract, Bethany was able to join the Residential Property Department as a paralegal. She is now part of the Clinical Negligence team as a trainee solicitor.
Outside of work Bethany enjoys going to the theatre, trips to the beach and pottering around the allotment she shares with her parents.
