Bethany is currently in the third seat of her training contract in the Commercial Litigation and Disputes department, having previously enjoyed seats in the Clinical Negligence and Commercial Property departments.
Bethany graduated from Newcastle University in 2014 with a First in English Literature. Following graduation she worked for a charity in Senegal which involved working alongside the local prison. This experience of a foreign justice system, together with a desire to utilise the skills acquired during her undergraduate degree, led her to study the GDL at Northumbria University. Bethany graduated with a Distinction soon after undertaking the vacation scheme with Hay & Kilner.
Bethany wanted to build a career based in the North East and was impressed by Hay & Kilner’s reputation as a regional leader. Prior to starting her training contract Bethany was part of the Residential Property Department as a paralegal for a year.
Outside of work Bethany enjoys going to the theatre, trips to the beach and pottering around the allotment she shares with her parents.
