Hay & Kilner joins regional panel supporting families affected by infant loss

Hay & Kilner is supporting the Foundation for Infant Loss Training as its regional legal representative, joining a network of specialist professionals working to improve access to support for families affected by pregnancy and infant loss.

The Foundation has brought together professionals and organisations from across baby loss, infertility, healthcare and family support to create a national directory of trusted services. The aim is to make it easier for families to find appropriate, informed support within their local area, while helping organisations signpost people to specialist help when they need it.

As part of the regional panel, Hay & Kilner will contribute its family law expertise, including mediation where separation is complicated by profound grief, as well as sensitive issues surrounding post-loss parenting arrangements and fertility disputes.

These are areas where the legal process can intersect with deeply personal circumstances, making sensitivity, understanding and appropriate specialist support particularly important.

Kate Fenwick, Partner and Head of Family and Finance at Hay & Kilner, said: “For families experiencing pregnancy or infant loss, legal issues can arise at an incredibly difficult time. It is important that any advice is delivered with sensitivity and a genuine understanding of the circumstances they are facing.

“We are pleased to be part of the Foundation’s regional panel and to contribute our family law expertise alongside a wider network of professionals. Bringing the right people and organisations together can help make specialist support easier to find when families need it most.”

The Foundation’s directory is being shared with baby loss and infertility charities, NHS organisations, family support organisations and corporate clients. It will also be promoted through relevant conferences and events over the coming year.

For Hay & Kilner, involvement in the panel is an opportunity to share its specialist family law knowledge as part of a wider support network, helping to ensure that families facing particularly difficult circumstances can access appropriate professional advice.

Kate added: “Family law is ultimately about people and the circumstances they are navigating, not simply the legal issue in front of them. Being part of a wider network like this helps us understand and respond to the different support families may need alongside legal advice.”

Hay & Kilner is proud to contribute to the Foundation’s work and to support its aim of making specialist help more accessible to families across the region.
