Hay & Kilner strengthens corporate and commercial property teams with two senior appointments

Hay & Kilner has strengthened its commercial offering with the appointment of two new lawyers as it continues to invest in talent and support growing client demand across the region and beyond.

Jacob Ward has joined the firm as a Commercial Property Solicitor, while Peter Robinson has been appointed as a Consultant in the firm’s Corporate Team.

The appointments further enhance Hay & Kilner’s commercial legal services as the firm continues its strategic growth during its 80th anniversary year.

Jacob joins Hay & Kilner after completing his training contract with another North East legal firm. He brings more than two years’ prior experience as a Commercial Property Paralegal having worked across a broad range of commercial property matters including landlord and tenant transactions, property finance, acquisitions, disposals and development projects.

In his new role, Jacob will advise a wide range of clients including business owners, commercial landlords and tenants, property investors, developers, and retail and leisure operators.

Jacob Ward said:
"Joining Hay & Kilner was a fantastic opportunity. The firm has an outstanding reputation in the North East and beyond, and what really stood out to me was its people-focused culture and the strength of its Commercial Property team. There has been significant investment in the department in recent years, and it’s an exciting time to be joining as the firm continues to grow. I’m looking forward to working alongside such a highly regarded team and supporting clients across a diverse range of property matters."

Peter Robinson joins as a Consultant in the Corporate Team, bringing extensive experience from senior corporate roles across a number of North East law firms, as well as more recently running his own consultancy business.
Throughout his career, Peter has advised a broad spectrum of clients, from owner-managed businesses and start-ups through to listed companies, supporting them on mergers and acquisitions, strategic investments, business growth and corporate transactions.

Peter Robinson said:
"Having worked opposite Hay & Kilner on a number of deals over the years, I’ve always been impressed by the quality of the team and the way they work with clients. The firm has a clear vision, strong values and an ambitious strategy for growth, which made this a very attractive opportunity. I’m delighted to be joining the team and look forward to helping clients achieve their commercial ambitions."

Jonathan Waters, Managing Partner at Hay & Kilner, said:
"We are delighted to welcome both Jacob and Peter to Hay & Kilner. They each bring excellent experience, strong commercial insight and a shared commitment to delivering exceptional client service. Their appointments reflect the continued growth of the firm and our ongoing investment in talented people across key practice areas. As client demand continues to grow, strengthening our teams with high-calibre lawyers remains a key part of our long-term strategy."

Hay & Kilner has continued to expand its commercial teams in response to increasing demand from businesses across the North East and nationally, with the latest appointments reinforcing the firm’s commitment to investing in expertise, client service and future growth.
