How to get to our Newcastle office

Newcastle Helix is in the centre of Newcastle upon Tyne, making the office easy to reach on foot, by car, or by public transport.

By car

Newcastle Helix can be reached from the A1(M) and A167. Follow signs towards Newcastle city centre, then head towards St James' Boulevard. The Lumen building is to the west of the city centre, near the Gallowgate end of St James' Park.

Where to park

There are a few car parks within walking distance of the office:

  • St James' Park Car Park (NE1 4SE), 8-minute walk
  • Eldon Square Multi-Storey Car Park (NE1 7RZ), 10-minute walk
  • The Gate Car Park (NE1 4EP), approximately 8–12-minute walk
  • Blandford Square Car Park (NE1 4HZ), approximately 10–15-minute walk
  • The Garage at Helix (Corporation Street, NE4 5TF), approximately 3-minute walk

On-street pay-and-display bays are also available nearby on St James' Boulevard, George Street, and St John Street.

By metro

St James' Metro station is a 4-minute walk from The Lumen, with reliable links across the region. Central Station and Monument Metro stations are also an option, both around an 8–10 minute walk from the office.

By bus

Due to the central Newcastle location, there are plenty of bus stops nearby on St James' Boulevard and the surrounding streets. Main bus operators are Stagecoach North East, Go North East, and Arriva North East.

  • Coach services: The Newcastle Coach Station (NE1 4EE) is also on St James' Boulevard, for National Express services

By train

Newcastle Central Station (NE1 5DL) is a 10-minute walk from the office, with direct links to Edinburgh, Leeds and London.
